The Coronavirus has killed about 170 people in China and has spread to different countries after the outbreak in Wuhan city of China.
According to China’s National Health Commission, 7,711 people have being affected by the virus and 170 people confirmed dead. Australia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Nepal,The Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Canada, The United States, Finland, France, Germany, The United Arab Emirates already have some confirmed cases of the coronavirus infection. There is no confirmed case of the Coronavirus in Africa. The Global Preparedness Monitoring Board (GPMB), an independent body created by the World Health Organization and the World Bank, however, is concerned that many countries remain unprepared and urges leaders in all countries to take immediate action to ensure that they have the necessary capacities in place.
There are no vaccines available to protect you against human coronavirus infection. You can reduce the risk of infection by doing the following.
Always wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands. Using a protective face mask could help reduce face and hand contact.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, then throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands.
Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces.Symptoms
Symptoms which include fever, cough, shortness of breath, may appear in as few as two days or as long as 14 days after exposure. Kindly report to the health authority if you experience any of the coronavirus symptoms.
